Teams don’t perform, people do.

High Performing Teams don’t happen by magic. In our experience, teams are underpinned by how people come together as humans, in the first instance, to achieve things that are meaningful and worthwhile that they can only achieve together.

Our approach to working with teams is to support and challenge them to create the right culture, conditions, and environment for this to happen and to equip them with the tools to sustain and repeat consistently high levels of performance.

“We have been working with Below the Line for a number of years and in that time, they have brought a unique, innovative and bespoke approach to collaborating with us. They bring fresh thinking from the worlds of elite sport and business into workshops, events and sessions that have helped our team to connect more deeply as human beings. This in turn has made a huge difference to our ability to trust and rely on each other, collaborate and share resources and to perform at a consistently high level, particular during times of challenge and change.

As is often stated in business, “the soft stuff is the hard stuff” and through Below the Line we have learned and experienced the value of going to the places that most teams don’t go in order to drive and fuel our performance.”

– David Ward, AIB Corporate Banking

Case Study

The client, a Global Governing Body, sought a programme for the Senior Leadership Team of 12 people that would strengthen the leadership capability of this group at an individual and team level.

The challenge

The organisation was highly successful and had large scale ambitions for further growth and expansion internationally yet had given relatively little attention to how it developed leaders, critically engaged with its own performance and developed future talent.

A programme was sought that would improve the cohesion at the senior team level, serve as a platform for embedding a wider leadership culture throughout the organisation and address some key inhibitors of team performance.

The solution

We designed a programme for the client based on a number of factors:

  • Discovering their needs

  • Our assessment based on a series of exploratory conversations with the programme sponsors

  • A series of 1 to 1s with each team member and the outputs based on their EQi Emotional Intelligence Assessments as part of phase 1 of the programme.

Teams are underpinned by how people come together to achieve things that are meaningful and worthwhile.
